You will be hated by all for my name’s sake. But not a hair of your head will perish. By your endurance you will gain your lives. | Luke 21:17-19

Today’s Reading | Luke 21

Opportunity in Difficulty

Of all the things concerning the end of the age that are listed in this chapter, which ones would be the most difficult for you to endure? It is incredible to realize that in the midst of very difficult circumstances, Christ promises victory (verses 13-15 and 19). Believers will have opportunities to witness for Christ, and their adversaries will not be able to resist or contradict what they say. Even more exciting is that they will also gain life. We often see only the negative in difficult circumstances. We do not see the opportunities these same circumstances bring to be a witness, to have God supernaturally empower us, or to have even greater confidence in our faith. Although our circumstances are difficult, they always produce positive results. How are you viewing the circumstances God has allowed to enter your life? Do you see opportunities, or situations to be changed and eliminated? Remember, that in the midst of the most difficult circumstances come the greatest opportunities for personal growth. They also offer us the ability to demonstrate the difference Jesus Christ makes in our lives. Does anyone notice Him in your life?
