Today’s Reading | Galatians 2
Personal Growth
We learned yesterday what motivated Paul. What did this chapter reveal to you about the motivation of false teachers? If we look closely, we see they wanted to take away freedom in Christ and make people slaves to them (vs 4). These teachers wanted the believers to depend on them to identify what was right and what was wrong. Paul was different. He wanted these people to know and depend on God’s Word and the Holy Spirit to lead and guide them. Paul wanted these believers to develop a relationship with God and learn to be sensitive to the leading of the Holy Spirit. Paul’s desire was to help them know God and learn to depend on Him and His Word, not on the Apostle Paul. What kind of believer are you becoming? Do you study the Scriptures for yourself so that you know what it says and can make decisions guided by the Holy Spirit? Or, are you dependent on others to tell you what is right and wrong? Are you spending time each day developing your relationship with God and His Word? Commit yourself to developing these skills, and allowing the godly leadership in your life to help you along the way.
