Today’s Reading | Ephesians 2:11-21
Prejudice Condemned
Racism and prejudice are despicable. Nobody who truly understands and follows Biblical teaching will engage in prejudice of any kind. This passage shows us why. Paul explained to this church, made up of mostly Gentiles, that, at one time, they were outside of God. They were Gentiles and not part of God’s promise. Jesus Christ came and abolished what divided the Jew and the Gentile. He made it possible for all people to become part of the body of Christ. There are no longer foreigners or aliens. The power of the gospel goes beyond race or nationality and makes believers of all races and nationalities one in Christ. We are all members of one body. We should not need black churches, white churches, Hispanic churches and Oriental churches. Our churches ought to be an example to the world that the gospel of Jesus Christ breaks the walls that divide us and we are all one in Him. Does your life demonstrate you believe this? Is your church an example of this to your community? Jesus Christ broke down the walls that divided the races. Look at your friends and evaluate your life.
