Today’s Reading | Ephesians 5
You’re Just Like…
After spending time with you, would an acquaintance know whose child you are? Have you ever had someone who did not know you ask you if you were your parents’ child just by observing how you act? Would someone know you belong to Jesus Christ after watching you for a while? They would if you are successful in doing what Paul asks us to do in today’s reading. He explains that we need to be imitators of God. We see kids everywhere who imitate someone. At basketball games, some players wear sweat bands exactly like their favorite NBA player does. They’re imitating those individuals. People imitate their favorite musicians in dress and hair styles. Paul stresses that we, as Christians, need to be imitating God. We need to act, wherever we are, like He would. While doing our job, we need to do it as He would. When people see us, they need to see Jesus Christ. Who are you imitating? Do your actions, attitudes, dress, etc, demonstrate that you are striving to be like Him? Can people see Him in all you do? If not, concentrate your efforts on imitating Him and let the people in your world see Christ.
