Today’s Reading | Colossians 4
Make the Most Of
How many opportunities in a typical day do you have to impact others? How many opportunities do you have to give a word of encouragement to someone who is discouraged? How many people will you see who are ready to give up, even though they may not appear so? How many opportunities do you have to plant a seed that will help someone make an important decision in their future? How many opportunities do you have to share something about your faith that will encourage an unsaved friend to think about his relationship to Christ? How many opportunities do you have to demonstrate to someone who is watching the difference that Jesus Christ makes in your life? If you are honest, you would have to answer all of those questions with the word “many.” With that knowledge in mind, Paul closes this letter with an important admonition. He tells the Colossians to make the most of “every” opportunity. What a great prayer it is for you each day. “Today, God, help me to see the many opportunities I have to influence my world and to make the most of every opportunity to impact others.”
