Go and learn what this means, ‘I desire mercy, and not sacrifice.’ For I came not to call the righteous, but sinners.” | Matthew 9:13

Today’s Reading | Matthew 9

Share Your Story

What different responses do people have just after they become a Christian? What did you do after you first trusted Christ? Did you tell someone, or keep it to yourself? How long after Matthew became a disciple did it take before he had all his friends into his house to meet Jesus? Isn’t it cool to read how quickly Matthew wanted to share with his friends what had happened to him? One thing you see all through Scripture is that people whose lives were touched by Christ want to share their story so others could have the same joy. They wanted so desperately to see the people they loved find all they themselves had found in Jesus Christ. What a thrill it must have been for Matthew to be able to see Jesus reach out to people in his world, those people whom the religious leaders would have nothing to do with. How often do you bring people from your world to hear about Christ? Do you look for opportunities to tell what He has done for you? Who can you share your story with this week? How are you going to share it with them? Their life may never be the same.
