Today’s Reading | Matthew 11
Who is Christ?
What question did John send his disciples to ask Christ in verse two? Did John doubt who Christ was? In today’s reading we learn some encouraging things to help us in our own walks with God. John was obviously wondering if all this were really true. It is encouraging to know that even the greatest men of God sometimes have questions. What was Christ’s answer? He simply told them to tell John what He was doing. Could it be that all John needed to hear was what Christ was doing and that would be enough for him to have faith? Jesus’ answer must have been enough because we do not read that he asked it again. What would it take for you to really believe? What has Christ already done in your life that proves who He is? We can learn from John that when we doubt, we need to examine what God has already done to prove to us who He is. That should be all we need to have our faith restored. Take some time to list the ways God has demonstrated who He is in your life and in the lives of others. As you look at your list, allow it to fill you with confidence and to remove any doubt.
