Today’s Reading | Matthew 25
Use What You Have
What was the quantity of talents that was given out in verse fifteen? What are the different numbers of talents? The essence of this section is not how many talents each man got, but how the master responded to what they did with the talents. His response was not based on how many they had in the end, but how they used what they had. The one who began with two talents got the same response as the one who began with five because he used what he had to their fullest. In fact, the response is exactly the same. The man who had one was condemned, not because he ended up with less, but because he did nothing with what he had. God does not respond to us based on how much talent we have, but on what we do with it. It is comforting to know that God only looks at how I use my talents and does not compare me with everyone else. How are you using your talents? Are you using your talents in a way that would please God? How can you begin today using the talents God has given you? Answer the questions below to help you begin your evaluation of your gifts and abilities.
