Today’s Reading | Matthew 27
For You!
How many different things did they do to Christ to physically hurt Him? Circle them in your Bible. Which of them do you think would be the most painful? How does it make you feel to know that Jesus Christ went through all that for you? From getting slapped in the face, to nails in His hands and feet, to a spear in His side, He did it all for you. After all the beating, He then carried the cross to where He would be crucified. How do you respond knowing He did it all for you? How do you respond to such love? Does it bore you to read such details? Do you half-heartedly live your Christian life? Does it cause you to keep it to yourself and avoid talking to someone about what He did for you? How tragic to have someone demonstrate such amazing love and to respond with apathy. Since Christ has done all that for you, what are you doing for Him? Since He took the blows that were meant for you, shouldn’t you be willing to take some blows that are meant for Him? How can you show God today how thankful you are for this kind of love? Don’t act like it doesn’t matter!
