Today’s Reading | Acts 3
Using What You Have
What gifts and abilities has God given to you? In what ways do you influence the lives of people using those gifts and abilities? Do you encourage them? Listen to them? Give good advice? In this chapter, we find an example we need to follow in order to use our God-given gifts and abilities to influence the lives of people. A man came to Peter and John. All he asked for was money. The problem was that Peter and John had no money to give him. But, they did have the gifts and abilities which God had given to them. They knew they could use them to touch the life of this poor man in such a wonderful way. So, instead of feeling guilty or embarrassed because of what they didn’t have, they used what they had to touch his life. We sometimes feel that only those with particular gifts or abilities can effectively touch the lives of people. We forget that God has given all of us something special that enables us to influence the lives of others. God brings people into our lives that need our influence with our specific abilities. Look for ways to touch a life with what God has given you. Someone needs what you have to offer. Ask God to reveal him/her to you.
