Today’s Reading | Revelation 5
Fell Down and Worshiped
Who is the “Lion of the tribe of Judah, the Root of David?” How did He triumph? The answer to both these questions is found by looking closely at this chapter. The Lion of the tribe of Judah and the Root of David was the One who was slain and, with His shed blood, purchased men for God. By His sacrifice, He made people of all nations to be a kingdom and priests of God. He was the Lamb who was slain. Who is the One who did all this? – Jesus Christ. Because of what He did on the cross, He is worthy to not only open the scroll, but worthy to receive everything that belongs to God. He is worthy to receive power, wealth, strength, honor, glory, and praise. Jesus Christ did what no man could ever do. He did for you what you could never do for yourself. He purchased you for God that you might become a kingdom and a priest and might serve Him. How have you responded to this truth? Hopefully, not only by worshiping and praising Him, but also by serving Him with your whole heart. After all He has done for us, is there a sacrifice too great or task too menial to demonstrate our thankfulness and love? Is this how you live your life?
