Today’s Reading | Revelation 12
Now Has Come
What does this chapter mean? Did you wonder what the answer to that question was as you read? Let’s examine the passage closely and see if we can understand what John wrote. First, the woman in this chapter refers to the Nation of Israel. It is from them that Christ was born. The child is obviously Christ. The dragon is Satan. Satan tried, at the time of Christ’s birth, to destroy Him yet was unable to. Christ died for our sins and rose again the third day, accomplishing His purpose. Since Satan was unable to defeat the child, he turned his attention to the woman, the Nation of Israel. We also learn that there will be a battle between Michael and God’s army and Satan and his army. Satan will be defeated, probably in the middle of the tribulation, and then cast out of Heaven. He will not be permitted there again. Satan will intensify his attack on the Nation of Israel. God will provide refuge so they will not be totally defeated. This is the beginning of the end for Satan and his army. God will be victorious against Satan and He will provide deliverance for His people. Does your life illustrate that God is already victorious?
