Today’s Reading | Titus 3
Good Reminders
We find in this chapter a wonderful description of salvation. You need to be familiar with this section so that when you have an opportunity to share your faith, you can use it. Or you might need a simple reminder today of what Jesus Christ has done in your life. Paul, in verse three, describes what we were like before we trusted Christ. It is not very flattering, is it? In verses four through six, he reminds Titus how we have been saved. Our salvation is the work of God in our lives and not something we can do for ourselves. This happened so that we might have the hope of eternal life. And what should our response be to all of this? – To devote ourselves to doing what is good (vs8). Titus needed to stress these truths to people so that they would not forget what had happened to them. When you stop to think of what Christ has done for you, how can you do anything but devote yourself to doing what is good? Reread this section and ask yourself what good you are doing in response to what God has done for you and what affect is your life having on the unsaved people you know. To understand the immensity of these truths will change your life and your view of the unsaved souls in your world.
