Use Your Gift
In what way has God gifted you to serve and encourage the body of Christ? If you do not know the answer to that question, you can not fulfill what today’s passage teaches us. In verse ten, we are told to use whatever gift we have received to serve others. We are to take the gifts God has given to us and use them to encourage and help the body of Christ. We are to allow them to be energized by the Holy Spirit. As Christians, we have already learned that we are called to face all kinds of unjust suffering. While we know our suffering produces positive results in our lives, it is nonetheless difficult. It is important, then, to be a part of the lives of our brothers and sisters by using our gifts to serve and encourage them. Verse ten lets us know it will come in various ways, but it must come from each of us. You can’t just sit back and not take your place. God has a purpose for you. What role does God want you to be playing in your church? How can you use your gifts to serve the body of Christ? If you don’t know what your gifts are, who can help you discover what they are and how you might serve the body? Your are needed!
