Never Give In
Before Peter closes this great book on suffering, he gives us a few final reminders. Did one of them stand out to you? Peter reminds us again that there are positive results from suffering. He reminds us that we are able to participate in what Christ faced and that suffering allows us to bear His Name. Insults, resulting from our witness, demonstrates that God’s glory is upon us. We have an opportunity to not only impact this world and grow in our walks with God through suffering, but we also have the opportunity to impact our first meeting with Christ. Suffering allows us to prepare ourselves to be able to have that first meeting with Christ be one of great joy. The bottom line on suffering? It is found in verse 19. Underline it in your Bible. First, we are to commit our lives to Christ and trust Him. Do not fret and worry, but give everything to Him. Second, continue to do good. Don’t give in, don’t stop doing what is right even in the midst of suffering. Allow God to use it in your life and use it in the lives of those who are watching. Why not take some time today to memorize this verse to help you handle any suffering you experience.
