Today’s Reading | John 3
How to get to Heaven
Who was Nicodemus? Why do you think he came to Jesus by night? Though he was not brave enough to seek Jesus publicly during the day, he was determined to know the truth. Though he wanted to know the truth, and was a member of the Jewish ruling council, he did not know how to get to heaven. Jesus demonstrated His surprise at this by His response in verses ten through twelve. He felt Nicodemus should have known. We, too, think that because people go to church, even your church, that they know all about salvation and how to get to heaven. The problem is that they do not. People who appear to be very religious on the outside may have no clue whatsoever as to what the Bible really says about heaven and how to receive eternal life. We often think that everyone living in America knows how to get to heaven. All around us are people, both religious and nonreligious, who do not know how to have a relationship with God. They need someone who will care enough to tell them. With whom can you share what Christ shared with Nicodemus? Don’t miss an opportunity because you think he/she already knows. They may not.
