Today’s Reading | John 9:13-41
Tell Your Story
What words would you use to describe the three main characters in today’s reading; the Pharisees, the blind man and his parents? It is great to read how excited the blind man was about what Jesus Christ had done for him. He wanted everyone to know that Jesus Christ was responsible. He did not back down at all when the Pharisees doubted and criticized him or when his parents did not support him. He knew, like his parents, that to acknowledge that Jesus was the Christ would mean he would be put out of the synagogue. Still, he would not deny the fact that Jesus Christ had done a work in his life, and he wanted to share it, even if that meant he would face punishment. No matter what the question or the response was, he basically said the same thing – that he was blind, but now he could see. He is a great example to us – share our faith without fear or shame. We seem to think that we have to always give a thorough gospel presentation when in a spiritual conversation. When at times, all we really need to do at first is simply tell people what Jesus Christ has done in our lives. Why not look for an opportunity to do just that today?
Observation: What do I see?
Interpretation: What does it mean?
Application: How does it apply to me?
Implementation: What do I do?
