Today’s Reading | John 11
Who is Jesus?
Imagine you are having a conversation with some friends, and it suddenly turns to religion. During the discussion, one of your friends asks you who you believe Jesus Christ is. How would you answer him? That is the most important question which could be asked – one all of us must be able to answer. Who you believe Jesus Christ to be and how you respond to Him determines where you will spend eternity. This chapter contains verses which clearly state that Jesus Christ declares Himself to be God. In fact, Jesus Himself, said in verse 4 that Lazarus’ death was permitted by God to reveal this very fact. In order to receive eternal life, we must come to realize that Jesus Christ is God, and His death made eternal life possible for those who believe. As you read through the rest of this book, write in the margin of your Bible the word “Deity” every time you read something that illustrates that Jesus Christ is God. It will help prepare you to tell others who He is. As you discover more about the life of Jesus Christ and what He has done for us, look around at the people in your world. They need you to share what you are learning, with them.
