Today’s Reading | John 20
Unlock the Doors
What specific things do you observe the disciples doing in this chapter that demonstrate that they had very little faith? Put an * in your Bible next to those examples. One unbelievable example is found in verse 26. Keep in mind as you read this verse that the disciples had already seen Jesus Christ alive by the time they were gathered again. He had already talked to them and shown them the scars on His body. They gathered again, and verse 26 tells us that the doors were locked just as they had been in verse 19. Why? Could it be that they were still afraid of the Jews? Wouldn’t you assume after experiencing all they had up to that point, they would have had no fear and would have left the doors wide open? How similar we act today. We have had God do the miraculous in our lives, and yet we later find ourselves overcome with fear wondering what will happen next. Could you have an area of your life where you have the doors locked in fear? How can you allow what you know to be true of God begin to open the doors in your life?
