11.13 | Tuesday

When was the last time you were asked to do something that seemed impossible? In fact, you wondered what in the world was wrong with the person who asked you to do such a thing. For example, feeding 5,000 people when you had little money and almost no food? That is exactly what the disciples were asked to do in this passage. Jesus turned to them and said that He did not want to send the people home hungry and wanted the disciples to feed them all, over 5,000 of them. Although it seemed impossible, the impossible was exactly what Christ had in mind. They looked at the task and decided it could not be done. What they failed to see was the power of God in the midst of the impossible. What is impossible for man is possible with God. What request has God been making of you that, when you think about it, causes you to respond the way the disciples did? What miracle might you be missing because you are concentrating on the impossible and not on God’s ability to respond? Ask God to enable you to trust Him and allow Him to do what to you might seem like the impossible. Then watch him work.

Mission Impossible
