11.16 | Friday

Have you ever spoken to someone about a concern you had with what he was doing and he continues to repeat the behavior? Maybe you’ve asked others to stay out of your stuff? How does it make you feel to have explained something many times to someone who continues to repeat the behavior? How do you respond? In this passage, the disciples find themselves in the same position as they were earlier, with Jesus’ wanting to feed a large group of people with little food. Obviously, they did not learn the lesson that Jesus tried to teach them when He fed 5,000 people in 6:30-44. It is interesting to observe Christ’s response to them. He did not yell at them, get tense or have any of the reactions we so often use when people fail at something we have talked to them about. He is our example of how to respond to someone who does not learn the first time. Who in your world needs to see a more Christ-like response from you in this area? Your family, friends or comrades? Maybe you need to ask their forgiveness for responses you have already demonstrated. Start today being more like Christ when others fail.
