11.20 | Tuesday

Think of someone you really look up to. How has he/she impacted your life? What is it about him/her that has had an influence on you? Is he someone who has been with you through difficult times, someone who has given you some much-needed advice or led you to Christ? Who, when asked those same questions, would give your name as someone who has impacted him? If we could honestly look at the influence you have on the people in your world, would it be positive, negative or just neutral? In today’s reading, we hear from Christ how He feels about those who use their influence on people to lead them into sin. How sobering to know that each of us have people watching us every day. Often we do not even realize the kind of influence we are having on the people around us. God clearly states in this passage that anything that influences people to sin, even if it is a part of our own body, should be removed. What would you need to change in your life if you want to influence people to do what is pleasing to God? Honestly examine your life; make the changes in order to be an influence for good.
