Today’s Reading | Hebrews 11:21-45
Heroes of Faith
Of all the men and women of faith listed in this chapter, which one leaves the greatest impression on you? As you read the list, did you identify with any one of them? While this list is amazing, there were so many others whose faith was remarkable, and, although their names weren’t specifically mentioned, verses 33-38 lists the great things they did. How incredible it must have been to be able to accomplish what these people did for God. How amazing to be able to stand for Christ against all odds. Verse 38 is accurate by saying that the world was not worthy of them. Could your name ever be included in a chapter like this? Is it possible for us to have the kind of faith that would allow us to stand like they did? The answer is yes. In the passage we will read tomorrow, we will learn what is necessary to become men and women of faith. It may never be required of us to be stoned, sawn in two, or to be chained and put into prison for our faith, but we can take steps towards greater faith and standing strong for Christ in our worlds. Are you up to the demands this kind of faith will have on you? Are you this committed to Christ?
